Next Sunday’s walk commences from Chirk car park (free with toilets) and initially follows the River Ceiriog west to join a section of Offa’s Dyke path. We then follow Offa’s Dyke path northeast (with good views of Chirk Castle) to eventually meet the Llangollen canal for the return to Chirk. The canal section contains a short tunnel which is railed but you may wish to bring a torch. I have not found this to be a particularly muddy walk. The route is about 15km (9 miles) and I have graded it ‘C’ although with just under 400m (1300ft) of ascent it can be considered towards the top of this grade.
We meet at Upton library for a 09.00am departure
