Next Wednesday’s evening walk also features in the Wirral Walking Festival (see below) and the West Cheshire Walking Festival. So we could have quite a few joining us, and of mixed abilities.
The Donkey Stand is on The Parade, opposite Nicholls ice cream shop and The Ship Inn. It’s where the pavement opens out into an area with benches, facing out to the marshes and Dee estuary.
There’s car parking on The Parade and on streets off the parade. There’s a small car park on Mostyn Square which is nearby, and also has toilets. There’s a much larger car park at The Old Baths, beyond The Boathouse pub, but this has a gate which closes at dusk
It’s a short walk, a little over 3 miles. Along the promenade, past the Boathouse, continuing along to Gayton Cottage, up the road, along the Wirral Way, back to the Donkey Stand. Dry underfoot, easy paths, I’ll be wearing trail shoes.
Could have a drink afterwards in The Ship, or Boathouse, if anyone’s up for this. Or fish and chips before the walk, which Jill and me will likely do if it’s a nice evening.
Walk starts at 7pm from the Donkey Stand.
