The next walk is this week, (7th. February) about 6 miles in the Caerwys/ Ysceifiog area. A mixture of paths, fields and woodland, with a few short connecting stretches of minor lanes. Starting in Caerwys, the walk drops to Afonwen on the A541 and then climbs gently, via a nature reserve, to Ysceifiog Lake. From the lake there is a steep climb up out of the valley to reach a lane. This leads to another footpath which drops to the old fisheries in Caerwys. Here, we walk north through woods along the stream, reaching Caerwys via a lane and footpath. There is a short climb at the start of this footpath.
