Social

Cestrian Ramblers organise a variety of social events throughout the year.  These are a great way to cement friendships made on the walks and also to meet other members who may walk on different days.
Several members act as Social Events Organisers and offer the following:

Mid-week Meals
These evenings are arranged on a regular basis and are always well attended.  Popular venues have been the restaurant at Upton Golf Club, the training restaurant at West Cheshire College , a Chinese restaurant on the Wirral and several restaurants in Chester. For current information please see below.

Theatre and Cinema Trips
Trips to Theatr Clwyd are arranged throughout the theatre season with many members taking advantage of the group bookings.  Recent visits have included Blood Brothers, Cat on a Hot Tin Roof, Woman in White,  Gabriel, The Glass Menagerie and the Pantomime.  Information is regularly circulated about films at Tarvin Community Centre. Short Breaks Away
Two three night  breaks are organised each year, one in May and the other in September.  Staying together in either a hotel or  guest house, walks are arranged each day and opportunities to visit local attractions are available for those who may prefer an easier day.  These breaks are extremely popular and sell out fast.  In recent years the group has stayed at Criccieth, Ludlow, Anglesey, Hawick, Runswick Bay and  Eden Valley. For pictures from our most recent trip to Biggin in Derbyshire  see below:

Christmas Meal

Held on the last Sunday before Christmas, this morning walk ends at a local restaurant/pub for a full Christmas meal.  Recent Christmas meals have been held at The Egerton Arms, Broxton,  The Sandstone at Broxton, the Boathouse at Parkgate and the Red Fox at Thornton Hough. Needless to say, most members try to attend – silly hats optional!
